The wine-tasting competition for awarding the trademark "Kuban Wines - Pride of Kuban" will be held on May 17 on the basis of the "North Caucasus Area Research Institute of Horticulture and Viticulture".
About 15 wineries of the region will take part in the competition that will exhibit about 45 samples of wines.
According to the information of the Regional Ministry of Agriculture the best wines will be chosen by organoleptic tests (determination of the product quality indicators on the basis of the analysis of sense organs: sight, smell, hearing, touch and taste).
"Still and sparkling wines from varieties of grapes grown on the territory of the region and entered into the register of plantings approved during the tasting will be recommended for the right to use the trademark" Wines of Kuban - the pride of Russia ",- said the Administration.
Kuban takes the first place in the country by volume of output of wines. A high level of product quality is confirmed by the results of International Competitions. Last year the enterprises of the region won 71 medals at the World Wine - tasting Competitions.
