VII "All-Russia Summit of Winemakers - 2017" will be held in October 14, 2017 in the village of Abrau-Durso A main event of the winemaking year will summarize preliminary results of work of Russian winemakers in 2017 and set a vector for future changes in the industry.
The organizers of the event are NO "Union of Wine Growers and Winemakers of Russia", Russian Wine House "Abrau-Durso" with support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Administration of Krasnodar Krai.
A key event of the Summit will be an open panel discussion and an annual open meeting of the Union of Wine Growers and Winemakers of Russia with the participation of representatives of Legislative and Executive Authorities, Research Institutions and leaders of public organizations representing the interests of a domestic wine-growing and wine-making business. During the discussion, the most topical issues and problems of development of production and turnover of wine products will be touched upon. It is expected that representatives of a professional wine-making Community will take part in work of the Summit, including more than 500 heads of wine-growing and wine-making enterprises and other officials associated with the industry.
The Summit will hold the largest-scale exhibition in the country: the best samples of wines, sparkling wines (champagne), liqueur wines, cognac and other winemaking products from leading Russian producers.
Traditionally, on the eve of a main meeting of wine growers and wine-makers of Russia the Tasting Contest "Cup of WWER-2017" will take place in October 11- 13. Annually, the jury of the Contest includes the most influential experts of a wine world: enologists, sommeliers, international judges, holders of the title “Master of Wine”.
As a result of the Contest, the best wines in its category will win the Cup of the WWER and they will be awarded with the title "The Best Wine of 2017".
Gold, silver and bronze will win 30% of the highest scores of samples in the following categories of wine production: white and red dry wines, liqueur wines, sparkling wines (champagne) according to a classical method of production and a separate category of a dry sparkling wine. And only five of the best wines in each category will be able to compete for the right to have the Cup WWER 2017.
