The exhibition has been held since 2005 in an International Exhibition Center of Changchun (Jilin Province, China). The China-North-East Asia Expo is the only fair in which all six Northeast Asian countries take part: China, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Japan, South Korea, Mongolia and the Russian Federation. Until September 2012, it was called "Trade and Investment Fair of Northeast Asia".
The organizers of the fair are the Ministry of Commerce of China, the State Committee for Development and Reform of the People's Republic of China, People's Government of Jilin Province of China.
The main directions: investment cooperation, a cultural exchange, thematic presentations, meetings and negotiations on the development of Russian-Chinese cooperation.
The concept of the event is to hold conferences and a forum for China's investment cooperation in Northeast Asia, as well as exhibitions of products of famous brands, high-tech and specialized products, discussion of issues of trade and economic cooperation, a cultural program.
Since 2005, when the first exhibition was organized, 420 thousand took part in it, 100 thousand people visited. Trade turnover of the exhibition reached 12 billion 300 million US dollars. During this time, 1480 international agreements have been signed.
At the Changchun International Expo Center, 9 exhibition pavilions were set up, in which 2769 standard stands with a total area of 62400 square meters were installed.
1. A main pavilion – an intellectual production (Pavilion 9, total area 9600 sq. M.) Theme of the exhibition: robots, intelligent road communication, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, a virtual reality, intelligent logistics, intelligent home appliances, information technologies of a new generation, internet + production, etc.
2. Pavilion of Finance and Innovation (Pavilion No. 1, total area of 2800 sq. M.) Theme of the exhibition: The credit and lending platform of enterprises, financial products and their derivations.
3. Pavilion Xianggang (Pavilion No. 2, total area 3500 sq.m.) Theme of the exhibition: intellectual appliances produced in Hong Kong, high-tech electronics, design concepts, food, building materials and decorative materials, cosmetics and other specific products.
4. Pavilion Taiwan (Pavilion №3 and №4, total area 7000 sq.m.) Theme of the exhibition: an intellectual production in Taiwan, electronics, food, light industry, art goods and other specific goods.
5. Pavilion of foreign goods (Pavilion No. 5, total area 8000 square meters) Theme of the exhibition: Scientific equipment, electronics, textiles, food, medicine, health product, other specific cultural goods and their derivatives from the countries of northeast Asia and countries ASEAN.
6. Pavilion of openness and cooperation (Pavilion No. 6, total area of 9500 sq.m.)
